Preparing & Caring for your Spray Tan
• Make you appointment 1-3 days before the day you want your tan to appear at its best.
• Exfoliate your skin the day prior to your spray tan appointment.
• Have a shower before your appointment and leave your skin clean of make-up, perfumes, deodorant and moisturizers (especially oily ones). If you are coming straight from work, shower in the morning and do the same (try to use wipes before you come if you typically sweat a lot).
• Wear or bring loose clothing to you appointment (eg. Loose dress with thongs).
• Unless you are using our express tan, you will need to wait at least 8-12 hours before exercising or getting wet. We recommend sleeping in your tan and washing it off the next day so as your tan develops un-disturbed.
• When showering (no more than once a day) use cool to warm water and don’t scrub your skin. Use a Ph balanced soap or something that is creamy to help your skin retain moisture for the duration of your tan. When drying, pat your skin rather than rubbing it with your towel or even better, air-dry!
• Keep your body moisturized over the next few days. You body will naturally shed skin cells, but if you keep your skin hydrated the patchiness will be reduced and the tan will fade better.
• Avoid heavy exercise or anything that will create a lot of rubbing on a concentrated area of your skin.
• Avoid chlorine as it will degrade your tan faster. If you are swimming, use a heavy sunscreen whilst in the water to build a barrier between the chlorine and your tan.
